KDB has directed more than one hundred productions on the east, west, and south coasts of the United States, ranging from classical dramas to original comedies to contemporary operas. She founded Atlantis Playmakers in 1998 and has worked in both 'houses' (professional productions and arts education workshops) continuously. KDB has had the pleasure of working with the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, the California Shakespeare Festival, Crowded Fire Theater Company, Pocket Opera, Dublin Theater Company and various schools throughout the nation. She has directed a dozen of Shakespeare's greatest works, with Hamlet and King Lear still on the to-do list.
Several of her full length plays have been produced, including the musical Jukebox: A Rock & Roll Radio Show in Florida, the drama Locked from the Inside by Crowded Fire Theater Company in San Francisco, and the comedy The Bride by Atlantis Playmakers. Shorter works have been produced by Woman's Will and read at San Francisco's Playground, as well as the Short Attention Span PlayFEST.
KDB is also an accomplished fight director and stage combat performer, her latest project being the FIGHT!!! series which can be seen in the annual New England Fringe Festival. Fight direction credits include One Flea Spare, Marisol, Romeo and Juliet, Julius Caesar, Shocktoberfest, and others. She works and trains with Dueling Arts International, and has been Gregory Hoffman's Assistant Fight Director for several productions, including the world premiere of Dead Man Walking by the San Francisco Opera Company. She appears in the instructional video "And They Fight" produced by Dueling Arts.
KDB's most recent on-stage appearance was as May in Fool for Love. Her one woman show, Jane Foole, is scheduled for production next fall.
