THE BRIDE was called "Hilarious... a comic time-bom" by critics when we produced it in 2001.
THE BRIDE Written and directed by Kimberly Davis Basso Smash hit in 2001, The Bride is a flat out farce of wedding proportions. Rosegate Gardens is the setting for a very private wedding between a starlet and her wealthy beau. Everything that can go wrong, does, including a missing groom, a mismatched minister and a gaggle of rabid swans. And the mother-in-laws... well, one's presumed dead and the other wishes she was. This very fast paced comedy requires excellent timing, as well as physical comedy skills for the role of Walter (the groom). The Bride will officially open our new theater at Western Avenue Studios with a Gala Opening Night party on August 1st.
Casting: * due to the long run, understudies will be cast for this show & perform at least once* 5 Women: Wendy (20's-30's perfectionist wedding coordinator at Rosegate Gardens); Mrs. Snip (105 year old housekeeper); Trixie 20's (papparazzo undercover as a stripper); June 40's (mother of the bride, presumed dead but just really unlucky); Patricia Arlene Wellington (mother of the groom, full name, full southern belle at all times, will not disclose her age) 6 Men: Walter (20's-30's the disappearing groom); Dan (20's-30's brother of the bride, a good guy in the middle of this mess); Senator Bixby (40's father of the bride, always campaigning; Joe Steele (soap opera star and former boyfriend of the bride); Rev. Flanagan (replacement minister, Irish); Dexter Brigham (older, lawyer, a man's man, lots of money to put towards... anything he wants)

FIGHT!!! Episode V: Return of the Jed-Pie Created by Kimberly Davis Basso Directed by various
The ensemble of FIGHT!!! requires stage combat, dance or a martial arts background. We are casting 4, possibly 5 women and 4 men to take part in this 45 minute extravaganza of stage violence. Each piece is set to music. Performers are expected to participate in the creation process and meet monthly to work on pieces, so rehearsal scheduling is very fleixible. This is unlike any show you will ever be in - there is no dialogue, there are no breaks. Please highlight fight, dance or martial arts experience on your resume if you would like to be considered for this show.
General Audition: Saturday April 5 at 3PM. Please come prepared to move. Dance or athletic wear is approprite, as are gym shoes. You will be taught a short series of fight choreography. We work as an ensemble and as such, this is a group audition, much like a dance audition.
Performances: October 9-12 as our entry in the New England Fringe Festival, Lowell October 16-18 as part of a new "Fight for Your Life" series, at our new theater in Lowell
SIN CYCLE / SAS PlayFEST by Various Directy by TBA
Sin Cycle is a series of plays created this year based on the seven deadly sins. As with our 'regular' SAS PlayFEST, we receive between 300 and 400 entries from around the globe and we will be selecting only 7 for production. We will be casting an ensemble of three men and three women to play diverse roles in all seven plays.
Performance dates are not set in stone (as of March 1, 2008). We are considering moving the SAS PlayFEST to Labor Day Weekend, as we will be in our brand new theater in Lowell (!) and our typical dates conflict with other festivals in our new home town. We'll make sure we have exact dates for you before asking you to take a role.
General Auditions: April 2 and April 3 at 7PM at 122 Western Avenue, C Mill Second Floor Please submit your resume and headshot according to the instructions above.
