Workshops for Adults (18+)
Brawling & Big Sticks (Basic Stage Combat)
February 16 - one day workshop
Middlesex Community College
Learn stage combat that is both safe for the actor and compelling for the audience. Techniques taught for unarmed stage combat, including basic brawling, dirty tricks, and other kinds of butt kicking experiences. In addition, basic quarterstaff (big stick) techniques will be taught. Classical Acting Intensive: Shakespeare and Swordplay
JUne 18, 19, 20 3 Day Workshop, in our new rehearsal space
Dive into Shakespeare with a combination workshop - mornings are spent working text and developing character, afternoons include basic swordfighting techniques. Workshop culminates in the performance of a scene with fight choreography. Very limited enrollment.   Actors will be asked to prepare a short Shakespeare monologue to bring to the workshop.  Meets from 10AM - 4PM.  June 18, 19 and 20 in Lowell.  **If you are interested but cannot make weekday workshops, please let us know. We are planning a weekend workshop for later in the summer.** $180, includes all materials, weapons will be provided.

Acting I:
Starting September 8, 7-9PM
Meets for four weeks
An introductory course for actors new to the trade – focus is on character development and partnering. Work in a supportive, fun atmosphere with theater professionals. Limited class enrollment. $80

Acting II:
Starting October 6, 7-9PM
Meets for four weeks
For those who have taken Acting I or have limited experience in theater - focus of this course is on scene work, finding the arc of the character, and maximizing the playwright's text.  Limited class enrollment. $80/ Returning students $50

Acting III:
Starting November 3, 7-9PM
Meets for four weeks
An advanced acting class with a focus on text analysis, physicality, and voice work. Limited class enrollment. $80/ Returning students $50



ADDITIONAL WORKSHOPS:
Audition Techniques A small class size allows us to focus on individual feedback. Monologue selection, analysis and preparation for the 2-3 minutes you have at an audition. Auditing and feedback by the Artistic Director avalible included in most workshops. Suitable for actors new to the craft or anyone who would like a brush-up before a large audition. Private coaching is also available.  

 

Basic Swordfighting: Techniques for single rapier include parries and cuts, evasions, basic terminology and acting the fight. Scene Study:  Next Session We are currently finding a new, year round home for our theater.


Improvisation:
 A great
next step for scene study students or those needing a refresher. This course is an overview of basic improvisation techniques, including a wide range of theater and improv games and exercises.  Next Session We are currently finding a new, year round home for our theater.
