FALL
Eight week classes for PreK, Ages 6-8 and 8-13 with acting, improvisation, movement, creative writing, costume design, set design, and more. Each program is age appropriate and packed with creativity, teamwork, and students increase confidence, imaginative problem solving, and public speaking skills.
PreK Creative Play (3-5) Fridays 11:15 - 12Noon September 11 to October 30 Saturdays from 12:45-1:30 September 12 to October 31 All kinds of dramatic play, with a lighthearted focus on the actors tools - our voices, bodies, and imaginations. Each workshop follows a pattern of learning, with key elements repeated throughout, and at 45 minutes, it's just the right length of time to maintain their interest. Week to week they'll enjoy becoming a 'theater expert' and working with other PreK actors in the group. Music, movement, and dress up time make for a very creative play time. Adventures in the Arts (5-8) Saturdays from 11:30 - 12:30 September 12 to October 31 Explore Art, Music and Theater with a variety of exciting workshops! Each week explores different techniques, building confidence and team work with a final open workshop for family and friends. Playmakers (8-13) Saturdays from 10 - 11:30 September 12 to October 31 Come write a play with us!!! Acting, character creation, creative writing, rehearsal, improvisation, physical and vocal techniques culminate in a performance written, produced and performed by the students. SHAKESPEARE's QUILL (10-13) Fridays from 12:30-2:30 September 12 to October 31 FOR HOMESCHOOLED STUDENTS Specifically for home-schooled students, this eight week course couples the basis of playwriting - character creation - with performance techniques for a one of a kind workshop every time. Shakespeare's greatest characters will be explored and experienced the way Renaissance actors rehearsed and performed them. Students will also develop and design for a character, while experiencing the ensemble work and camaraderie that is theater. Created by Kimberly Davis Basso (Artistic Director) based on her writing techniques and twenty years of directing and adapting Shakespearean texts.
